Impartiality Policy Statement

QMS Nepal’s official commitment to objectivity, independence, and the ISO 17021-1 Impartiality Policy standards.

Welcome to the Impartiality Policy page of QMS Nepal. As a leading Certification Body, we understand that the value of certification is the degree of public confidence and trust that is established by an impartial and competent assessment.

This Impartiality Policy outlines how we manage conflicts of interest and ensure objectivity in our management system certification activities, strictly adhering to ISO/IEC 17021-1:2015 regulations.

Commitment to Our Impartiality Policy

The Top Management of QMS Nepal is fully committed to this Impartiality Policy. We recognize that impartiality is the fundamental value of our service. It is the actual and perceived presence of objectivity.

To maintain this trust, QMS Nepal ensures that our decisions are based solely on objective evidence of conformity (or non-conformity) obtained strictly through the audit process. Our decisions are never influenced by other interests, financial pressures, or external parties.

Detailed Impartiality Policy Requirements

1. Prohibition of Consultancy

Under this Impartiality Policy, QMS Nepal shall not:

  • Be the designer, manufacturer, installer, distributor, or maintainer of the certified product;
  • Offer or provide management system consultancy or internal audit to its certified clients;
  • Outsource audits to a management system consultancy organization;
  • State or imply that certification would be simpler, easier, faster, or less expensive if a specified consultancy organization were used.

QMS Nepal is an independent entity. Our revenue is generated solely from fees charged for certification and training services. We do not receive funding from any political parties or religious organizations that could violate our Impartiality Policy. Payment of fees is for the assessment activity itself, not for the issuance of a certificate.

We have established a Committee for Safeguarding Impartiality (CSI). This committee reviews our audit, certification, and decision-making processes to ensure no commercial, financial, or other pressures compromise our integrity.

All QMS Nepal personnel, including external auditors, must sign an Impartiality & Confidentiality Agreement. Auditors are prohibited from auditing a client if they have been an employee or consultant for that client within the past two years.
