ISO Certification Process: Digital Path to Compliance

The ISO Certification Process

A transparent, digitally-driven journey towards international recognition.

At QMS Nepal, we have streamlined the ISO Certification Process by integrating the latest digital tools defined in the ADAPT Self-Assessment Matrix (SAM). Our workflow is designed to be rigorous yet efficient, ensuring auditability and data security at every step.

Whether you are seeking ISO 9001, ISO 14001, or ISO 27001, our accredited ISO Certification Process adheres strictly to ISO/IEC 17021-1:2015 standards. From the initial digital application to the final certification decision, every interaction is process-driven and identity-secured.

Table of Contents:

Step 1: Digital Application & Contract Review

Step 2: Scheduling & Audit Planning

Successful delivery requires precise coordination. QMS Nepal utilizes a centralized digital calendar to match your specific industry codes (IAF Codes) with our qualified assessors, ensuring competence throughout the ISO Certification Process.

Collaborative Planning

Our lead auditors create an Audit Plan that is shared with you digitally. This plan details the audit objectives, scope, criteria, and the schedule for interviewing your team. Thanks to our digital platforms, draft plans can be collaborated on by multiple assessors simultaneously, ensuring a comprehensive assessment strategy.

Step 3: The Initial Assessment (Stage 1 & 2)

Step 4: Technical Review & Decision

Impartiality in Action

The auditor does not issue the certificate. To maintain our Impartiality Policy, the final audit report is reviewed by an independent Technical Reviewer or panel who was not involved in the audit. This ensures the decision is based solely on objective evidence.

Once approved, your ISO Certificate is generated and stored in our secure digital registry.

Surveillance & Maintenance

The ISO Certification Process is a 3-year cycle. After the initial certification, QMS Nepal conducts Surveillance Audits (typically annually) to ensure your system maintains compliance and drives continuous improvement. At the end of the 3 years, a Recertification Audit is conducted to renew the cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if I fail the audit?
ISO audits are not “pass/fail” in the traditional sense. If we find Major Non-Conformities, you are given a timeline to implement Corrective Actions. Certification is granted once these are verified and closed.

Can I do the Stage 1 and Stage 2 audits back-to-back?
Generally, no. We recommend a gap of at least a few weeks between Stage 1 and Stage 2 to allow you to address any concerns identified during the readiness review.

How do I check the status of my certificate?
All certificates are logged in our centralized database. You can verify the validity of any QMS Nepal certificate by contacting our office or using our online verification tool.
